The Food Pantry Program is a national initiative created by and for Service Coordinators who want to ensure that every resident has access to healthy, reliable food — no matter where they live.
Whether you already run a pantry, are trying to start one, or simply want to learn how others are solving food challenges, this project gives you a place to connect, learn, and share practical solutions that work.
Across the country, many senior communities face the same barriers:
- Residents live in food deserts with few nearby grocery options.
- Coordinators struggle to find reliable partners and consistent donations.
- Communication between residents, volunteers, and donors can easily break down.
The result is that too many seniors go hungry — not because food isn’t available, but because the people trying to help are disconnected from one another.
The Food Pantry Program changes that by linking coordinators nationwide so no one has to face these challenges alone.
This program is for Service Coordinators working in affordable housing, independent or assisted living, or senior communities — anyone who helps residents get the food and resources they need.
It’s for both experienced coordinators who’ve already built partnerships and new coordinators who are just starting out.
Everyone has something to contribute — and something to learn.
You’ll get free access to three main resources designed for busy Service Coordinators:
- Simple guides, short videos, and FAQs on how to start or improve a pantry.
- Real examples from coordinators who’ve successfully built sustainable programs.
- Virtual sessions where coordinators across the country share ideas, challenges, and success stories.
- A chance to ask questions and hear what’s working elsewhere — from big cities to small rural towns.
- An easy way to connect directly with other coordinators, ask for advice, and offer tips.
- Share donation opportunities, grant leads, or success stories that others can learn from.
Very little — just your insight and participation.
You can join calls when you can, share what’s working in your community, or simply listen and learn.
There’s no cost, no sales pitch, and no obligations.
Your experience — whether big or small — helps others, and that’s what this program is about.
Yes — completely free.
There are no strings attached and no fees of any kind.
This is a collaborative effort to support each other and make real progress against food insecurity in our communities.
Imagine hundreds of Service Coordinators working together — sharing donor contacts, storage tips, volunteer ideas, and communication templates — all to make sure that no senior in America goes hungry because of poor coordination or lack of information.
That’s what we’re building together.
The Food Pantry Program is more than a program — it’s a growing community of professionals helping one another make a difference.
