The Community Hub Glossary of Terms

Term Definition
Activated This refers to the state of a Community Resident who has been given a device, has set up the device to use Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, has been entered into the CMS, and has launched the Community Hub voice app and has successfully registered their device through the voice app.
Admin A synonym for CMS Member.
Building Use "Community" whenever you see this in the CMS etc.
CMS Acronym for "Content Management System"
CMS Admin This refers to Community staff who access the CMS to enter events, members, content, and send notifications to residents.
Community A community is the set of residents that use the Community Hub Voice App.
Community Level CMS Privileges This is the level of CMS access that is given to staff who are expected to manage communities: managing events, notifications, members, menu, newsletter, etc.
Community Member This is a resident of the community who has a device and uses the Community Hub Voice App.
Community News Resisents are able to launch the Community Hub Voice App and ask for "Community News." CMS Admins are also able to log into to the CMS and enter the Community New details for their communities.
Community Resident A synonym for Community Member.
Content Management System A web based interface that enabled CMS Admins to login an manage the content as well as the membership of their communities, schedule events, and send notifications.
Deployed A device is said to be "deployed" if it has been shipped by Parker and has been received by Community Staff.
Device This refers to a smart speaketr or a tablet that is being used to interact with the Community Hub Voice App.
Distributed A device is said to be "distributed" it it has been handed by Community Staff to a Community Resident. The device does not need to have been activated : that is, it could be sitting on the resident's table unopened, or it may have been opened and set up, so that the resident can ask the weather, but has not launched the skill and has not completed the registration throug the skill.
Event We use "Event" to refer to events that residents inquire about and register to using the community hub voice app.
Event-Level CMS Privileges This is the level of CMS access that is given to staff who are expected to manage only events.
Mail Resisents are able to launch the Community Hub Voice App and ask if the mail is in or not. CMS Admins are also able to launch the voice app and set the status of the mail as being in or not in.
Menu Resisents are able to launch the Community Hub Voice App and ask for the menu. CMS Admins are also able to log into to the CMS and enter the details of the menu for their communities.
Notification CMS Admins are able to login to their CMS account and send Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant notifications as well as text message and automated phone calls.
Parker Level CMS Privileges This is the level of control that select Parker staff have, which includes all of the Community Level access level as well as access to executive reports and the ability to create communities and users.
Provider Another name for "Sponsor."
Resident A synonym for Community Member.
Sponsor This refers to a community or collection of communities that are contractually engaged with Parker. And example is The Diocese of Camden.
Superadmin CMS Access Level This is the level of access and control that Witlingo Engineering has.
Unit TBD.
Invocation Invocation is the action of launching an Alexa skill, for instance, when someone says, "Alexa, launch Community Hub", they are invoking the Community Hub Alexa skill.

Housing unit This refers to a room, apartment, townhouse, house, where a participating community member lives.
Distribution This is the action of handing a device to a resident. The action of simply handing them the device without doing anything else (connecting it to the Amazin account, enabling skills, etc.).
