Two of the key metrics of SEO success are a low bounce rate and high dwell time: the amount of time someone stays on a page after clicking on a search engine results page (SERP). If a web page is marked optimally and if the right websites are linking back to it, and its content is compelling, then when it surfaces in an organic search, those who visit it will find it relevant and will spend time on it. And the longer they stay on that page, the greater the likelihood they will act on any calls to action that are within it.
It has been demonstrated that embedding multimedia to your web pages increases dwell time. Adding videos is a very effective way of increasing dwell time. But videos are labor intensive and take a lot of work to get them just right (lighting, resolution, “looking good,” facial expressions, etc.). Audio, on the other hand, is far less labor intensive, so that one can literally create an audio for a page in a matter of minutes.
So, if you wish to increase the dwell time for your web pages and give a shot in the arm to your website's ranking and authority, consider adding audio to your web pages.
To get a sense of what this means, please check out the web pages in our website. They all have an audio included in them -- just like this very page that you are reading.
