Witlingo NFC

Witlingo NFC gives every resident a simple, permanent way to access the latest information from property managers and service coordinators.

Each resident receives a personalized NFC tag installed in their unit. When they tap it with their phone, they immediately see or hear the latest information staff has shared with them.

No app to find. No password to remember. No old text messages to search through.

Just tap.

A New Communication Channel for Affordable Housing

Residents already receive information through text, phone calls, email, mobile apps, and other channels.

Witlingo adds another: NFC.

Staff creates a message once in Witlingo and chooses who should receive it. That message can be delivered through traditional channels while also appearing automatically when the resident taps their NFC tag.

The NFC tag becomes a permanent, personalized information point inside the resident's home.

How It Works

1. Witlingo Creates the NFC
  • Each resident receives their own unique NFC tag.
  • The tag is associated with that resident in Witlingo and shipped to the community ready for installation.
2. Staff Posts an Update

Property managers and service coordinators create messages in Witlingo just as they do today.

Messages can be sent to:

  • One resident
  • A group of residents
  • A building
  • An entire community
3. Witlingo Personalizes the Information

Witlingo knows the resident's preferred language and communication preferences.

The same message can automatically appear in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Arabic, or any of the 50+ languages supported by Witlingo.

Residents can read the information or listen to it as audio.

4. The Resident Taps
  • The resident simply holds their phone near the NFC tag.
  • Their personalized Witlingo page opens in the browser and displays the latest information intended for them.
  • No app installation is required.

What Residents Can Find

The NFC feed can include information such as:

  • Recertification reminders: Documents still needed, upcoming deadlines, appointments, and next steps.
  • Inspections: Dates, preparation instructions, schedule changes, and reminders.
  • Property updates: Maintenance notices, water shutoffs, elevator outages, office closures, and emergency information.
  • Resident services: Food distributions, transportation, benefits assistance, health programs, and service coordinator updates.
  • Events: Community meetings, activities, classes, meals, and special events.
  • Personal messages:  Information that staff wants a particular resident or household to see.

Information That Doesn't Disappear

  • Text messages get buried.
  • Emails go unread.
  • Paper notices get misplaced.

With Witlingo NFC, residents always know where to go.

  • The same NFC tag remains in the unit while the information behind it continuously changes.
  • A resident who remembers hearing something about an inspection, deadline, or event does not have to search for the original message.
  • They simply tap.

Designed for Inclusion

Communication should not depend on whether a resident speaks English, uses email, remembers a password, or knows how to navigate a mobile app.

Witlingo NFC helps remove those barriers.

Each resident can receive information:

  • In their language.
  • As text or audio.
  • On a device they already have.

And through one simple action: Tap.

Simple for Staff

NFC does not require staff to learn another communication system.

Staff continues creating messages in Witlingo.

Witlingo handles:

  • Resident targeting
  • Translation
  • Audio generation
  • Message publishing
  • NFC personalization
  • Message expiration
  • Engagement tracking

One message can serve many channels.

Simple for Communities

Witlingo prepares the NFC tags and ships them directly to the community.

Each tag arrives associated with the correct resident or unit.

Community staff simply installs the tag in an appropriate location inside the resident's unit.

There are:

  • No batteries.
  • No Wi-Fi connection required for the NFC.
  • No hub.
  • No electronics to maintain.
  • No app for residents to install.

Another Channel. A Different Kind of Channel.

Most communication channels push information to residents.

NFC gives residents a place they can return to whenever they want information.

That makes NFC both a communication channel and a permanent resident information resource.

Text reaches the resident.

Phone calls reach the resident.

Email reaches the resident.

NFC is always there when the resident needs it.

Keep Residents Informed Without Adding Complexity

Witlingo helps affordable housing teams use modern communication technology to make sure the right information reaches the right resident, at the right time, in the right language, and in the right format.

Now that can include a simple tap inside every resident's home.
