Ahmed Bouzid is the Founder and CEO of Witlingo, a technology company focused on improving resident communication, engagement, and operational efficiency in affordable housing and senior living communities.
At Witlingo, Ahmed leads the development of a resident communication platform that helps property managers, service coordinators, and management teams reach residents through text messaging, automated phone calls, email, mobile applications, and smart speakers, in more than 50 languages. The platform is designed to reduce administrative overhead, improve resident engagement, strengthen compliance, and give management greater visibility into communications, delivery, responses, attendance, and deadlines.
Ahmed has spent more than two decades working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, voice technology, software, and human-computer interaction. Before founding Witlingo in 2016, he served as Product Head for Amazon Echo and Digital Products, where he helped lead the launch of Alexa Smart Home for Amazon Echo and the Alexa platform. Earlier in his career, he held senior product and innovation roles at Angel.com and Genesys, and co-founded XOWi, a cloud-based conversational and speech technology company that was subsequently acquired.
He is also an advisor to several organizations working in artificial intelligence, voice technology, and emerging technology. He serves as an advisor to OpenHome, an AI-driven smart speaker company, as an Advisory Board Member of the Lifeboat Foundation, and as an advisor to Georgetown University's Human Language Technology Group, where he supports efforts to prepare students in linguistics, the humanities, and the social sciences for careers in human language technology.
Ahmed is the author of several books examining artificial intelligence, voice technology, digital transformation, and emerging technologies, including Technology at a Crossroads: Essays on IT in a Twilight Age (2025), Generative AI for Executives: A Strategic Roadmap for Your Organization (2024), The Voicebot Age: Essays on Conversational AI & Digital Audio (2024), NFTs for Business: A Practical Guide to Harnessing Digital Assets (2023), and The Elements of Voice First Style (2022).
He is also an inventor on multiple patents related to voice and conversational technologies, including patents covering voice-enabled social artifacts, multimodal interactive voice response systems, methods for creating language grammars using spreadsheet or table interfaces, routing user communications to agents, and personal voice companion badges.
Ahmed holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Science and Technology and an M.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech, as well as a B.S. in Computer Science from The George Washington University.
Today, his work at Witlingo focuses on closing the communication gap in affordable housing and senior living—helping organizations improve the experience of residents and staff while reducing operational friction and avoidable financial leakage.
